Holiness, Hostility, and Hope

A Study of 1 & 2 Thessalonians

A person who claims to follow Christ who doesn't work hard to earn their living (if they are able) harms the reputation and witness of the church. Paul tells us how to treat such a person and reminds us of the grace of God that helps us live the way Christ calls his people to live.

We are called to stand firm and hold fast to the truth we've been given even during times of intense suffering or persecution. The good news is that when we grow weary, God renews our strength.

If most of us had a choice, we would choose a carefree, painless life, but what if there was a purpose in the pain? For the follower of Jesus, there is a purpose in the pain.
