In reading Habakkuk, we get to eavesdrop on a conversation between Habakkuk and God, during which Habakkuk asks God some very pointed questions, then God gives Habakkuk some very pointed answers. This conversation culminates in a beautiful prayer that was written to be sung in the temple.

When the Israelites began to take the Promised Land, the first obstacle in their path was the city of Jericho. It was a walled city that was considered impenetrable. However, although the Israelites couldn't get past the walls of Jericho, God could make them tumble.

John 3:16 is probably one of the most favorite Bible verses in Scripture. It speaks of God's immense love for humanity; however, sometimes that keeps us from seeing the fullness of God's character and nature. It is true that God is a God of love; however, it is also true that He is a God of wrath who will judge our sins. Our stubborn sinfulness can push Him to the point where He says, "Enough is enough!" That's the message of Nahum.

One of the keys to a successful walk with Christ is forgetting the past and pressing toward the future. However, there are some things that the Bible says we should remember. Our problem is that we often forget what we should remember and remember what we should forget. To move forward in Christ, we need to remember the goodness and faithfulness of God and allow that to encourage us as we press on toward the future.

Micah's message is the same as the message of any ministry anointed and led by the Holy Spirit. It's the ministry that Jesus said the Holy Spirit would carry out. It's a message of sin, of righteousness, and of the judgment to come.

God has blessed the United States of America and is continuing to bless her, but the primary way He will bless our nation is through His people. As the United States prepares to celebrate her 250th birthday, the Bible teaches us some things followers of Jesus can do to be a blessing to our nation.
