Lessons from the Life of Moses

A series of messages about the lessons we can learn from the life of Moses.

It seems as if there are many people who are sitting on a powder keg and could blow at any moment. Anger and rage has become epidemic. Most people wouldn't associate Moses with an anger problem, but when you look at scripture, it seems as if he had a bit of a short fuse. Moses' story provides some valuable lessons for anyone dealing with anger issues in their own life.

We are really good at making excuses. It seems that no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions and would rather make excuses for their failures. Moses was no exception. When the call of God came, he offered nothing but lame excuses. God's response to his excuses speaks to us today.

Sometimes the hardest people to share our faith with are those who are closest to us. Moses faced the same problem and we can learn from his example how to share our faith with family and friends.

Moses and the Israelites found themselves in an impossible situation when they became trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army. There was no way out. There was no hope. Nevertheless, God made a way where there seemed to be no way. This story teaches us what we need to do when we find ourselves in a situation that seems impossible.

There's a very unusual story in the Bible about how God nearly killed Moses before he ever returned to Egypt to deliver the people of Israel from slavery. Why would God do that? What was going on in this story? It all came down to a question of integrity.

Moses' life led up to the fulfillment of God's call on his life. God also has big plans for your life and He's working now to prepare you for the fulfillment of that plan.
