In reading Habakkuk, we get to eavesdrop on a conversation between Habakkuk and God, during which Habakkuk asks God some very pointed questions, then God gives Habakkuk some very pointed answers. This conversation culminates in a beautiful prayer that was written to be sung in the temple.

John 3:16 is probably one of the most favorite Bible verses in Scripture. It speaks of God's immense love for humanity; however, sometimes that keeps us from seeing the fullness of God's character and nature. It is true that God is a God of love; however, it is also true that He is a God of wrath who will judge our sins. Our stubborn sinfulness can push Him to the point where He says, "Enough is enough!" That's the message of Nahum.

The Bible tells us that Jesus didn't die for us after we worked really hard to clean ourselves up in order to make ourselves worthy to come into His presence. Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. That is how we know how much He loves us!
