Romans 8:28 promises that God causes all things to work together for our good if we love Him and are called according to His purpose. That promise becomes an anchor for our lives when we're faced with difficult or devastating circumstances because we know He's going to bring something good...even when we don't understand what's going on.

A life without a purpose isn't a life worth living. The good news is that God, the Creator of all things, created you. Therefore, you are part of His design, and you have a God-given purpose in this life!

Not only does our Shepherd give us contentment and peace, but He also offers us purpose in life.

John the Baptist's disciples got a little frustrated and jealous when Jesus started taking the attention of the people away from John. John, however, was completely content because he knew his purpose and his role in God's story.

When we're broken in the right places, the light of God shines out of our lives, the knowledge of Christ permeates the atmosphere like a perfume, those hungry for truth are fed, and lives are changed because of the sacrifice of Jesus.
