One of Jesus' close friends, Lazarus, became very ill. Lazarus' sisters sent word to Jesus that his dear friend was deathly ill, but Jesus delayed for two days before going to Lazarus' aid. During this time, Lazarus died and his sisters faced a crisis of faith. For Jesus, however, it was an opportunity to show the world that He has power over death.

A desperate nobleman came to Jesus and begged Jesus to go home with him because his son was on death's door. Jesus healed the boy, but He didn't do it the way the nobleman expected Him to do it. The man had to exercise faith without sight.

Hebrews 11:1 gives us a powerful definition of faith, but what does it mean to have faith in the desperate, painful, lonely moments in life?

Both Jacob and Gideon made errors in regard to their faith. Their errors were on opposite ends of the spectrum of faith and we can learn to live a life of faith when we learn to live between them.

When God made some incredibly massive promises to Abraham, he responded in faith and believed God. Abraham's faith teaches us some powerful lessons when it comes to living in authentic faith.

Moses and the Israelites found themselves in an impossible situation when they became trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army. There was no way out. There was no hope. Nevertheless, God made a way where there seemed to be no way. This story teaches us what we need to do when we find ourselves in a situation that seems impossible.
