Turning, Serving, and Waiting

After twenty-five years of waiting, the time for the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham and Sarah had come. Their experience teaches us a lot about God's promises and how He works to fulfill them in our lives.

Fearing that Abimelech would kill him and take Sarah as his wife, Abraham reverted to an old sin - lying. The result the second time wasn't any better than the first time.

One of the surprises we find in the Christmas story comes when we discover who God invited to greet the newborn Savior. One would think that powerful people, foreign dignitaries, the rich, and the powerful would be invited to come and welcome this newborn King. Instead, it was a bunch of lowly shepherds to whom the Lord extended the one and only invitation.
