In a somewhat surprising change of subject, the Apostle John suddenly introduces John the Baptist. In so doing, he gives us a glimpse into Jesus' plan for His followers: He's going to push back the darkness to reveal His grace.
The time to prepare for a storm is before it hits. While we can't prepare for every storm life may throw at us, we can prepare for the storms that hit us on the inside.
In the first few verses of the Gospel of John, the author makes sure that the reader knows who Jesus is and why He came to earth.
Everybody goes through storms in life. They may be financial storms, relationship storms, emotional storms, or spiritual storms, but everyone goes through them. The good news is that the bible assures us that we can come through any storm with our faith intact if we rely on Jesus in the midst of the storm.
The Gospel of John is filled with simply language that is filled with depth and meaning. In this study, Pastor Dave looks at the author, the differences between this Gospel and the other three, and the purpose of the book.
