This is the first message in a new series about events in scripture that were so stupendous that they changed everything. The Resurrection of Jesus was obviously an event that changed everything. As the result of the resurrection of Jesus, Christians no longer have to live in fear because Jesus has all authority in heaven and in earth and He promised that He would always be with us, even to the end of time.

The sixth gate of the City of God is named after Simeon, whose name means "hearing." This gate reminds us of the importance of being able to hear God and to realize that He wants to hear us, too.

The Bible tells us that Jesus didn't die for us after we worked really hard to clean ourselves up in order to make ourselves worthy to come into His presence. Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. That is how we know how much He loves us!

The sixth gate of the City of God is named after Dan, whose name means "judge." This gate reminds us that Jesus is our righteous Judge. That's bad news if you're a sinner, but great news if your sins have been forgiven.

Cancel culture as rampant in our society. If someone goes against the ever-changing standards of the world, they are immediately branded as a deplorable person and redemption is rarely available. Thankfully, God does not treat us like that. When we come to Christ in repentance and faith, God promises that He will remember our sins no more. What an amazing promise!
