This is the first message in a new series that we're calling "Standing on the Promises." In today's message, Pastor Dave talks about how we live in the flow of God's blessings every day.

After twenty-five years of waiting, the time for the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham and Sarah had come. Their experience teaches us a lot about God's promises and how He works to fulfill them in our lives.

Pastor Dave asks some important questions to help us begin to dream a little bit bigger about how God could use each of us in the coming year.

The greatest surprise of Christmas is that God came in the flesh. But why? And what were the implications of His coming in the flesh? He came to pay the penalty for our sins and to make a way for reconciliation with the Father.

After the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham pulled up his stakes and moved. He ended up near the city of Gerar, which was ruled by Abimelech. Fearing that Abimelech would kill him and take Sarah as his wife, Abraham reverted to an old sin - lying. The result the second time wasn't any better than the first time.

One of the surprises we find in the Christmas story comes when we discover who God invited to greet the newborn Savior. One would think that powerful people, foreign dignitaries, the rich, and the powerful would be invited to come and welcome this newborn King. Instead, it was a bunch of lowly shepherds to whom the Lord extended the one and only invitation.
